Dr Jakkan Mithun is a Consultant Spine Surgeon in the Department of Spine Surgery – Division of Orthopaedics at TX Hospitals, Hyderabad. Prior to joining TX Hospitals, he worked as a consultant spine surgeon, department of Spine surgery, Care Hospital Hi-tech city, Gachibowli, Hyderabad. He holds Fellowship in trauma, Osteoarticular infection and tuberculosis from P.D. Hinduja National Hospital and Research Center, Mumbai. And also holds MCI recognized fellowship in Spine Surgery [National Board of Examinations (NBE)]. Dr Mithun performs quite a large number of spinal surgeries ranging from surgeries for spine injuries to degenerative spinal diseases.

He has so far performed more than 3000 spine surgeries including trauma from Occipito-cervical region to sacrum, degenerative diseases, tumors, deformities, congenital conditions, spondylodiscitis, ankylosing spondylitis and other pathologic bone conditions. He has hands-on experience in microdiscectomy, minimally invasive spine surgery (MISS), kyphoplasty, TLIF procedure, MISS stabilization, cervical-thoracic-lumbar fracture stabilization, spondylodiscitis, revision spine surgeries, anterior lumbar and thoracic exposures, anterior cervical discectomy/ corpectomy and spinal fusion.
